MTExperiments is an ongoing research and performance initiative aiming to produce, reframe and redefine the genre of Musical Theatre.
We're a platform curating together performance and research that explores the diverse genre of Musical Theatre. We aim to challenge what musical performance can be with full scale reimagined & new productions to new innovative ways of accessing shows.
If it's something musical that questions what a musical can be or do, we want to know about it.
Our work divides itself via three strands:
Workshops & Development
We provide space for writers & composers to innovate and experiment in closed reading, workshops and 1-1 dramaturgical consultation.

Community Reframings
Working with a diverse cast of community and young people, we revive a musical and reframe it's relevance to today in large scale productions.
Recent works include
AMERICAN IDIOT
CHICAGO (Youth Edition)
RENT

Research &
Analysis
We're keen to examine and explore in detail pivotal moments and questions around the art form of musical theatre. Currently in early development, we're curating a platform of essays, discussions and provocations on what musicals can be and do.
